The SportPort porting template system eliminates the "black magic" science of cylinder porting. We've taken all of the countless time and effort of computer aided design and real world testing of engine modification to bring you a simple, yet affordable way for you to unlock the real power and performance from your engine.

Each template system is specifically designed and tested for each engine platform. As each engine manufacturer's platform changes, so do our templates. This provides you will the very best performance gains for your exact model.


HOW WE DO IT:

We use a computer aided design display of the ports we want from a properly modified cylinder. The specifications for these ports have already been determined through a long process of software design and hands on testing. The computer will process the drawing information and feed this data to the CNC mill. The template is cut, maintaining a .002" tolerance. With this system, the problem of having two cylinders ported by the same technician at the same performance shop with DIFFERENT results is eliminated.

More Horsepower is what we're after, but maintaining dependability is a primary factor in all our porting designs.

The finished SportPort template is a precision, reusable, flexible magnetic overlay.


HOW IS IT USED?

All porting templates come with a step by step, easy to understand manual.

The template is fitted to the side of the cylinder, a straight edge goes on top, and the template is bumped to the edge. With a right angle scribe a line is traced where the port will be cut to.

The shape of the finished port is determined during the design phase. There are many considerations when designing the ports: engine application, ring wear, pipe effect, etc. Even in a single window port it is important to have the two sides exactly the same. Uneven sides hurt ring wear, rpm limits, and performance.


This is where our SportPort template system really takes out the guess work. Your finished cylinder will have accurately shaped ports with exact dimensions.
